What previous participants have said:

Jenny shared her knowledge and experience of working with people who self-injure with warmth and authenticity. The workshop activities led to a clear understanding of issues surrounding self-injury, and empathic strategies for exploring these with clients in a gentle and person centred manner. There was a positive emphasis on boundaries and self care for both client and worker, and despite having many years’ experience working with this client group I came away with increased confidence in my ability to work meaningfully and effectively in this area.” Student Nurse

It is a long time since I came out of a CPD period feeling so inspired – you raised and tackled the issues in such a helpful way, thank you.’ (Student Mentor)

‘Jenny created a very safe space for all of us to ask questions and share experiences. We were able to explore something very sensitive in a way that felt held and respectful. Thank you Jenny’.( Private counsellor)

Learning to love and heal our Inner child

A one day experiential workshop to explore your own relationship with your inner child, either as part of your own healing journey or as a tool for practitioners to offer to others.

Inner child work is simply giving voice and expression to the child within us so that she / he can come to find safety and rest in our larger selves. It involves simple practices that bring awareness, acceptance and understanding to the younger aspects of ourselves that, for whatever reason, didn’t receive the care or nurture that they needed. In and of itself, it is quite possibly the most powerful act of self love and healing that is available to us.

This safe and supportive day will give you:

  1. A brief overview of the theories and idea’s behind inner child work
  2. An illustration of how the parenting you received as a child might relate to the ways in which you relate to your inner child.
  3. An introduction to a simple experiential map that can be followed to identify the limiting beliefs and ideas that your inner child may have.
  4. A variety of experiential exercises to support communication with your inner child.
  5. Information and suggestions as to how to apply and deepen the practice of relating with your inner child after the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for both those with some experience of inner child work and for those who would like to develop healthy internal dynamics between the different parts of themselves. it can also be attended by practitioners who’d like to develop their own practice in order to pass on to those they support.’I feel like I’ve been given a valuable tool to support me throughout my life. The workshop was guided and supported beautifully by Jen’ (Sarah, participant on inner child workshop) ‘Jenny was  a great facilitator and created a playful and inspiring environment to connect to our inner children’.  (Sam Participant)

Inner child work helps shift and heal old patterns, Jenny is an experienced, knowledgeable and caring facilitator who can safely hold the space for this work. I’d recommend it to anyone who is willing’. (Lucy Participant)
